The short answer
UBA is university basketball; TPBL and P. LEAGUE+ are professional leagues. The commitments and registration rules differ. Playing for a university does not automatically lead to a professional contract.
UBA: studying and playing
UBA results cover university teams and competitions. If you want to join a team, think about the course you would study as well as the basketball.
Ask the university which competition and registration category apply this season. Discuss your role, training and class workload. Check local requirements rather than assuming NCAA rules apply.
TPBL and P. LEAGUE+: joining a club
Use the official league websites for current teams and competition information. Ask the club which registration category applies to your nationality and playing history.
We recommend full games that show what you can contribute now. University experience helps a coach understand your background, but does not confirm a professional place.

What are you comparing?
Use these questions to keep study support and professional pay separate. Compare the documents and commitments for the actual offer you have received.
| Question | University route | Professional route |
|---|---|---|
| Main commitment | Study program plus basketball | Club role and contract |
| Financial document | Written scholarship or support terms | Written compensation and benefits |
| Who confirms access? | University admissions and team registration | Club and applicable league registration |
| What to assess? | Degree, coaching, funding and daily life | Role, term, payments and package conditions |
Which option makes sense for you?
If education comes first, start with the scholarship guide and application checklist. If you want a professional contract, prepare an up-to-date CV, full games and availability.
The salary ranges in our league overview are unverified planning estimates, not official Taiwan pay scales. Compare the contract’s duration, payment dates and benefits as well as the monthly figure.
- Keep university funding and a professional salary separate.
- Confirm the applicable rules for the current season.
- Choose a pathway on evidence of fit, not a promise of automatic progression.
