The short answer
Start with the exact club, competition and season. The Philippine PBA, Indonesia’s IBL and regional club events have different formats and requirements. Ask about the role, registration and length of the commitment before comparing offers.
Which competition would you join?
Use PBA information for Philippine teams and schedules, and IBL for Indonesia. Check the current competition rather than relying on a general description of basketball in the country.
For Thailand and other destinations, ask the club to name the organiser and competition. A full season, short tournament, training program and exhibition can involve very different commitments.

Where do regional events fit?
FIBA’s BCL Asia-East 2026 page covers a regional club event, with its own teams, games and results. Its schedule is separate from each team’s domestic season.
Keep domestic and regional statistics separate when assessing a player. A result in one event does not establish eligibility to play in another.
What exactly is being offered?
Find out what the team wants you to do and for how long. Include preparation, travel and the days after competition when comparing the full commitment. Use these questions to get the details in writing.
- Who is the club or event organizer, and who makes the recruitment decision?
- Which competition and season are you joining?
- Is the commitment a season, conference, tournament or individual appearance?
- Who confirms registration and any nationality-related category?
- What are the basketball role, preparation period and living arrangements?
- What amounts and expenses are confirmed in writing, and when are they paid?
Does it suit your experience?
Professional players should show recent games and clear availability. Students need to research a degree and team access separately. Coaches need to understand the staff role, player group and conditions.
We help organise the conversation. Compare teams through the role and written terms, alongside alternatives elsewhere in Asia or Europe.
- Prepare the same profile for each comparison.
- Keep academic funding separate from professional compensation.
- Record unresolved questions before committing to a move.
