The short answer
B.LEAGUE’s 2026–27 structure includes B.PREMIER, B.ONE and B.NEXT. Playing professionally means finding a specific club and checking registration. University admission, team selection and scholarships are separate decisions; an academic award does not confirm a basketball place.
Which B.LEAGUE season are you looking at?
The official 2026–27 announcement uses B.PREMIER, B.ONE and B.NEXT. Older player profiles may name previous divisions, so keep the season beside any comparison and check the current clubs and schedules.
Players should then look at the role a club needs. Fans can start with a team they want to follow. A division name alone does not tell you whether a playing opportunity is available.
What should you ask a club?
Share full games, your playing role, team history and availability. Ask which season and registration category would apply to you. An introduction is a chance to talk, rather than a confirmed offer.
Discuss how you will communicate with staff, what training involves and where you will live. Compare pay, housing, flights and support together in writing.
- Exact club and competition.
- Expected basketball responsibilities.
- Recruitment timing and required assessment.
- Registration and administrative contacts.
- Start and end dates, benefits and payments.
How do study and funding work?
The official Study in Japan scholarship guidance explains academic funding options. Check the conditions of each award and ask the university about the course and admission requirements.
A coach’s interest does not confirm admission. An academic scholarship does not confirm team selection. Ask whether classes, language and training can work together.
What would daily life look like?
Find out which language you will use, where you will live and how you will get to training or classes. Ask who will meet you and help with arrival.
Compare the actual offer with your other options. We can help you prepare the questions; the club, university and relevant authorities confirm their own decisions.
- Use the professional guide for the club discussion.
- Use the Asia scholarship guide for education and funding questions.
- Keep the official season and application dates in your checklist.
